While the stakes may not be as high for you at your next reenactment, this shirt will make a difference in terms of authenticity. This mail shirt protects the upper body during battle without restricting movement. It is crafted from 16 gauge mild steel with a black finish. The rings have an inner diameter of 9.5 inches. The rings form a 4-in-1 pattern that consists of four chainmail rings woven through another ring. Butted mail is the most economical construction style of mail and has limited historical precedent.
